Seven & I to operate family restaurants in China+

TOKYO, July 6 Kyodo -
Major retailer Seven & I Holdings Co. said Monday it will build a chain of
family restaurants in China, with its first one to be opened in Beijing on July
21.

Seven & I plans to open two or three more restaurants by the end of this year
and eyes operating a total of 30 in China in three years.
The holding company, which has convenience store operator Seven-Eleven Japan
Co. and others under its wing, believes family restaurants will be accepted in
China due to its rising income level and changes in diet.
It will operate family restaurants under the name of AllDay's to offer the
western-style dishes of its Denny's family restaurants in Japan, setting prices
lower than those at other restaurants in Beijing.
Seven & I and two Chinese partners set up a joint company in February to run
the family restaurants. Seven & I will collaborate with its subsidiary
Ito-Yokado Co. which operates in China to supply food materials to the family
restaurants.
