Air Premia to increase its fleet to 9 in 2025
SEOUL, Dec. 20 (Yonhap) -- Air Premia Inc., a South Korean low-cost carrier (LCC), said Friday it will increase the number of its planes to nine before the end of next year to better serve its expanded long-haul routes.
Air Premia received a 344-seat B787-9 passenger jet, the sixth of its chartered planes, on Thursday and it plans to add three more B787-9s by the end of 2025, the company said in a press release.
The latest aircraft will be injected into routes to Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco starting next month, it said.
On top of its current routes to the three U.S. cities, Tokyo and Bangkok, the budget carrier said it will offer flights to Danang and Hong Kong early next year, and to Seattle and Hawaii's Honolulu later in the year.
Air Premia does not operate domestic flights.
South Korea has two full-service carriers -- Korean Air Co. and Asiana Airlines Inc. -- and nine LCCs, including Jeju Air Co., Jin Air Co., Air Busan Co., Air Seoul Inc., Eastar Jet Co., T'way Air, Parata Air, formerly called Fly Gangwon Co., and Aero K Airlines Co.
