PM Stresses Iraq's Need to Diversify Sources of Armament to Raise the Efficiency and Readiness of the Security Forces
Baghdad / NINA / -Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed Iraq's need to diversify its sources of armament, to raise the efficiency and readiness of the security forces.
Al-Sudani said, during his reception today, Monday, of representatives of the Korean company (KAI) for aerospace industries: "The government is keen to cooperate with the company, and benefit from its expertise and capabilities to develop and enhance air defense capabilities, which come within the goals of the government program to achieve security reform and develop security services."
The Prime Minister pointed out, according to a statement by his media office, Iraq's need to diversify its sources of armament, which the government worked on within a comprehensive plan to raise the efficiency and readiness of the security forces, and enhance the country's ability to face various internal and external challenges.
For their part, representatives of the Korean company reviewed its capabilities in the field of aviation, the manufacture of drones, and its conclusion of contracts with the Ministries of Interior and Defense, related to equipping aircraft and contributing to the completion of the Suwaira Air Base, which is scheduled to open next year./End
