Samsung's new phone released in 70 countries

SEOUL, July 7 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Electronics Co., the world's second largest
handset maker, said Tuesday its newest phone had been released in about 70
countries within a month of its launch.
The company said the new Samsung Jet has hit showrooms in countries including
Italy, South Africa and Mexico since June 15 when the product was first released.
The Jet, a high-end full touchscreen phone launched last week in London,
Singapore and Dubai, offers high color resolution while consuming 40 percent less
energy than existing mobile screens, Samsung Electronics said.
It also incorporates advanced camera and audio technologies, the company said.
Samsung said earlier that more than 2 million units of the new model had been
ordered within a week of its launch.
