Richard Mille Team Wins Most Prestigious Title at Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo Championship 2025

AlUla, January 18, 2025—The Richard Mille Polo Team was crowned the winner of the 2025 Desert Polo Championship after defeating the Ikmah Team with a score of 8–6 in the final match, held at Al-Fursan Village in AlUla.
The trophy was presented to the winning team by Chairman of the Saudi Polo Federation Amr Zedan and Acting CEO of the Royal Commission for AlUla Abeer AlAkel, in the presence of President of the International Polo Federation Piero Delier.
The winning team was led by Argentinian star Pablo Mac Donough, with the participation of Clare Mountbatten, Marchioness of Milford Haven, and Mohammed Al-Suwaidi. The Ikmah Team included prominent players such as Nacho Figueras, HRH Prince Hamza bin Abbas, and Blouy Bingxing. The final match was fiercely competitive, with the score tied until the Richard Mille team scored two decisive goals in the final moments to secure the title.
The two-day championship featured strong competition among six teams. Matches to determine rankings were also held, with the Dadan Team defeating the Budget Team 7–6 in the last-place playoff, and the Bentley Team overcoming the AlUla Team 6–5 in the subsidiary cup final.
Prince Hamza bin Abbas was honored with the award for Best Player of the Tournament. Clare Mountbatten received the Best Female Player Award, and Nacho Figueras was named the tournament's top scorer. The horse Obsolete was awarded Best Horse of the Tournament.
Chairman Zedan congratulated the Richard Mille team for their victory, emphasizing that the Saudi Polo Federation remains committed to continuing the tournament in collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla. He highlighted the unlimited support from the Kingdom’s leadership, as well as the active involvement of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports, which have made it possible for the Kingdom to host various global sporting events that have garnered worldwide attention.
