THOUSANDS ATTEND PRAYER SERVICE AT SBY'S RESIDENCE

Bogor, July 7 (ANTARA) - Around 5,000 people from various religous groups and boarding schools in Java attended a prayer service at the private residence of presidential candidate Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) on Tuesday.

Led by Habib Abdurrachman Al Habsy, the prayers were offered for a smooth and peaceful presidential election on Wednesday.

All Indonesians who are eligible to vote will cast ballots on Wednesday to determine the country's leadership from 2009 to 2014.

Three candidates will compete in the race, namely Megawati Soekarnoputri who pairs with Prabowo Subianto, a former military general, incumbent president SBY who pairs up with former central bank governor Boediono and incumbent vice president Jusuf Kalla with Wiranto, former army commander, as his running mate.

The Constitutional Court ruled on Monday that unregistered voters can use their IDs to cast ballots in the election thereby ending a dispute over the fate of eligible voters who are not registered in the fixed voters' lists.

The court's ruling was produced after Jusuf Kalla and Megawati had earlier demanded a KPU ruling to allow unregistered voters to use their IDs but the Commission referred the case to the court.
