Hosted by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney, the February 13 gathering brought together officials, representatives from various organisations, and hundreds of overseas Vietnamese.
For many attendees, the event was a heartfelt reunion with Vietnamese traditions.
Lee Nguyen – Vietnamese Australian
This is the third time I’ve attended an event like this. I’m very happy that even though I live far from home, I can still feel the Tet atmosphere of my homeland. Every time I return to Vietnam, I see how much the country has developed. I hope that those of us living abroad can contribute even more to its development.
Nguyen Thi Song Thu – Vietnamese student in Australia
I’m really excited. The decorations look just like how my family decorates for Tet. To me, Tet is a very important occasion - a time for reunion.
Even international friends have a special affection for Vietnamese Tet.
The event also honored individuals for their achievements in culture, music, business, and scientific research, as well as their contributions to the Vietnamese community in Australia./.
