Apple agrees to recall some of its iPod music players

SEOUL, July 9 (Yonhap) -- Apple Computer Inc. has agreed to recall some of its
iPod music players following consumer complaints about their batteries, South
Korea's industrial standards agency said Thursday.
According to the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS), Apple
Computer Inc. has accepted a recommendation to remove its first generation models
of the iPod Nano MP3 player from local store shelves.
There have been four complaints received since December by users of the iPod nano
MP3 players, including three cases of battery meltdowns during the recharging
process, the agency said.
KATS did not say how many units will be recalled.
