M'SIA WILL NOT HESITATE TO ACT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKERS
MELAKA (Malacca)(Malaysia), July 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will not hesitate
to act against human traffickers whether they are government officers or not,
said Deputy Home Minister Abu Seman Yusop.
He said those involved in making, obtaining, giving or selling fraudulent
travel or identity documents for the purpose of facilitating human trafficking
would face the full brunt of the law if caught.
He said this when closing the ASEAN Awareness Course for Judges and
Prosecutors, here Thursday.
He said trafficking in persons was on the rise, regionally and
internationally and that last year, there had been 10 prosecutions under the
Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act 2007.
