Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra to perform 'Beauty of Classical Music' concert

Manama, May 8 (BNA): The Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Dr. Mubarak Najem, continues its preparations for the "Beauty of Classical Music" concert, which will take place on Friday, May 9, at the Bahrain National Theatre.
In celebration of Europe Day and in honour of the values of unity and diversity, this enchanting evening of classical music is held in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Sultanate of Oman, and partnership with several EU Member States. The occasion also marks the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, the historic proposal that laid the foundation for European integration.
The concert highlights the orchestra’s status as one of the region’s leading musical ensembles, featuring a specially curated programme of iconic classical works that continue to captivate audiences around the world.
The evening will include performances by two guest artists from the European Union: soprano Marika Franchino, performing celebrated arias by Puccini, and violinist Olga Arribas Quintana, who will present a solo from Mendelssohn’s famous violin concerto.
The programme also features selections from Beethoven, Mozart, Bizet, Sibelius, Bartók, and de Falla, and highlights the work of Frédéric Chopin, in a symbolic tribute to Poland’s current presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Founded in 2022 by Maestro Dr. Mubarak Najem, director of the Police Band and founder of the Bahrain Music Institute, the Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra comprises over 100 musicians and choir members, ushering in a new chapter in Bahrain’s musical journey.
