Bahrain participates in OIC legislative forum

Manama, May 12 (BNA):  Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives and Secretary of the Executive Committee of Bahrain’s Parliamentary Delegation, emphasised the importance of Bahrain’s efforts to strengthen parliamentary ties with Arab and Islamic countries.

Speaking at the 6th meeting of Secretaries General of member parliaments in the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), Al Buainain highlighted the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the legislative authority, and the close cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He said this cooperation boosts alignment between legislative councils on issues of mutual concern, particularly those related to Islamic nations.

Held alongside the 19th PUIC Conference in Indonesia from May 12–15, under the theme "Good Governance and Strong Institutions as Pillars of Resilience," the meeting reviewed opportunities for enhancing parliamentary coordination.

Al Buainain underscored Bahrain’s active role in parliamentary forums through initiatives that improve legislative performance and support the development aspirations of Islamic nations.  He also emphasised the importance of continued cooperation between parliamentary secretariats to improve administrative practices and leverage digital transformation in support of legislative functions.
