Parliamentary delegation participates in OIC General Committee session

Jakarta, May 14 (BNA):  A delegation from the parliamentary division took part today, Wednesday, in the 26th session of the General Committee of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), held as part of the 19th session of the PUIC Conference in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, from May 12 to 15.

The conference is being held under the theme "Good Governance and Strong Institution."

The parliamentary delegation was represented in the General Committee session by Dr. Ali Ahmed Al Haddad, Member of the Shura Council, and Jameel Mulla Hassan, Member of the Council of Representatives.

The session included the election of new members to the General Committee for the upcoming term, based on nominations submitted by member parliaments from the Arab and African groups.  The agenda also featured discussions on the committee’s work programme and a review of the Secretary-General’s report, which included a summary of the Union’s activities, participation in regional and international forums, and official statements issued by the General Secretariat and member parliaments.

The session further reviewed the audit report for the 2024 accounts and discussed the PUIC’s budget for 2025.
