Manama, May 14 (BNA): Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, emphasised that the speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the GCC-US Summit in Riyadh reflected His Majesty’s commitment to fostering strategic, cooperative relations with allied countries to support shared interests and development goals.

Al Saleh highlighted that the address laid the groundwork for building on past achievements in Gulf-US relations, particularly in political, economic, commercial, military, and defence cooperation. He emphasised the need for continued coordination between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the United States to address shared priorities.

He noted that HM the King’s remarks underscored the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pride in its strategic partnership and historic ties with the United States, particularly in the economic, investment, and trade sectors.

He also commended the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enhance regional security and stability under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.

Al Saleh highlighted HM the King’s appreciation for the diplomatic efforts of His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States, to advance peace and stability in the Middle East and beyond, including his decision to lift economic sanctions on the Syrian Arab Republic. He emphasised that this step supports regional and international security efforts and reflects a policy aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace through a two-state solution that ensures the rights of the Palestinian people.

Al Saleh concluded that the outcomes of the summit reinforced the commitment to strengthening Gulf-US cooperation and addressing regional and global challenges through joint efforts.
