HM King attends endurance race at Royal Windsor Horse Show

Windsor, May 16 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa attended the endurance race held today at the grounds of Windsor Great Park in the United Kingdom, as part of the annual event sponsored by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Upon arrival, HM the King was received by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team; His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club.
The race was also attended by His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, and several distinguished figures from the United Kingdom.
HM the King witnessed part of the race and met with riders from the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
On this occasion, HM the King commended the continued efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad in advancing this distinguished sport, which holds significant international popularity.
HM the King also commended the role of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation in promoting this sport and ensuring its active presence in regional and international competitions.
HM the King also lauded the numerous global achievements of Bahraini riders, noting their advanced results and ability to advance the Kingdom’s position in international sporting events.
To mark the occasion, HM the King hosted a luncheon in honour of senior guests and invitees.
HM the King had earlier arrived in the United Kingdom to attend the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Upon arrival, His Majesty was welcomed by Lord Claude Moraes, representing His Majesty King Charles III, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom; and members of the Bahraini Embassy.
HM the King was accompanied on this visit by Their Highnesses the sons of His Majesty and the accompanying delegation.
