Russia to build 100 business, tech parks to attract investments — deputy prime minister

The volume of extra-budgetary investments will amount to more than $272 mln, Alexander Novak added

MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. Russia will build 100 business and technology parks for 2,000 residents to create conditions for attracting investment in the country, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said at a meeting on supporting small and medium-sized businesses chaired by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

"It is difficult for small and medium-sized businesses to compete with large companies now. <…> In order to create conditions for attracting investment, we will build another 100 business parks by 2030, technology parks and industrial parks. 30 billion rubles ($371 mln) have been allocated for this purpose. Business funds will also be attracted. At least 2,000 residents will be located in these parks," Novak said.

The volume of extra-budgetary investments will amount to more than 22 billion rubles ($272 mln), he added.

According to Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, it is fair when financially secure regions invest more funds, and funds from the state budget are directed to regions with lower budget security.

"In our opinion, we will be able to implement this task of creating 100 new parks together with the regions," Siluanov noted.
