Ministry of Emergency Situations organizes training at AZERTAC

Baku, May 21, AZERTAC

To strengthen emergency response, a comprehensive training session was held at the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC), organized by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MES). The main goal was to develop employees’ skills for proper behavior during emergency situations—especially fires and earthquakes—as well as to instruct them on safety rules and evacuation procedures.

The event involved relevant personnel and equipment from the State Fire Protection Service, State Fire Control, and Medical Services of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The training comprised two main stages: theoretical and practical.

During the theoretical part, MES specialists conducted an extensive awareness session for AZERTAC staff. They explained key measures related to emergencies, including fire safety, safe handling of electrical equipment, use of fire-fighting substances, and guidelines for fires in public facilities. Additionally, detailed information was provided on safe behavior and evacuation during earthquakes and lightning. The presentations included thematic videos.

The practical part involved a simulated fire alarm at the AZERTAC building. The fire brigade promptly responded and initiated firefighting measures. Employees were safely and orderly evacuated in accordance with established procedures. “Victims” of the simulated fire were evacuated from the building, escorted to a safe area, and provided with preliminary medical care.

At the conclusion, participants and observers praised the organization and execution of the training. They noted that such practical exercises not only improve employees’ ability to respond swiftly in emergencies but also increase their overall readiness for real situations.

The training was successfully completed, with all objectives achieved. MES representatives emphasized the importance of conducting such events regularly.
