Foreign Minister meets Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister

Manama, May 22 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The two ministers reviewed the longstanding and advanced relations between Bahrain and Jordan, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan.
The meeting discussed efforts to enhance cooperation at all levels within the framework of existing agreements and memoranda of understanding. They also emphasised the need to activate and expand cooperation across various sectors and further develop coordination and ongoing consultation on regional and international issues of shared interest, particularly in international forums.
Safadi was briefed on the ministry’s digital transformation efforts, including systems and electronic services available to citizens at home and abroad. He was also informed about the platform used to monitor bilateral relations and track the implementation of projects and programmes under signed agreements. The briefing covered the ministry’s initiatives in diplomatic training, human rights protection, and the projects implemented as part of the National Human Rights Plan.
The ministers discussed the latest regional developments, focusing on efforts to establish a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, secure the release of hostages and detainees, ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and advance efforts toward a just and comprehensive peace. They also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA) and the Jordanian Foreign Ministry’s Jordan Institute of Diplomacy to advance cooperation in diplomatic training, research, and studies.
