Speaker highlights strong Bahrain–Morocco relations

Rabat, May 22 (BNA): Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, arrived in the Kingdom of Morocco at the head of a delegation from Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division to participate in the third edition of the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Economic Parliamentary Forum. The forum, organised by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), will be held from May 23 to 24, 2025, in Marrakesh.

Upon arrival, the Speaker emphasised the strength of relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Morocco, noting their continuous development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

He underscored the commitment of both countries to further advancing cooperation across various fields, particularly development, in a manner that serves the interests of both nations and their peoples.

The Kingdom of Bahrain joined the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean as an associate member on June 7, 2023, and obtained full membership on February 20, 2025. PAM currently comprises 34 full and associate members.

PAM is a key international parliamentary organisation that provides a platform for dialogue and cooperation among member states from the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions. It plays a central role in supporting peace, stability, and development by encouraging joint action on political, economic, and social issues.

Through its full membership, Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division aims to contribute actively to strategic partnerships across the region, strengthen political and economic cooperation, expand parliamentary diplomacy, and contribute to addressing shared challenges.

The Bahraini delegation includes Mohamed Moosa, Chairman of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee; Abdulhakim Al Shino; Hanan Fardan; Basma Mubarak; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division; and Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council.
