During the forum, the Bahraini delegation emphasised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to environmental and climate sustainability under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The delegation noted that Bahrain continues to implement national plans and initiatives aimed at fulfilling its environmental pledges, including a 30 percent reduction in emissions by 2035, expanding green spaces and afforestation, achieving net zero by 2060, and doubling renewable energy targets.

They highlighted the forum’s role as a key platform for political dialogue and development cooperation, fostering engagement between parliamentarians and public and private sector economic leaders to exchange insights and successful experiences.

The delegation underlined the shared natural resources, development priorities, and historical and cultural ties between the Mediterranean and Gulf regions, and called for strengthening economic parliamentary diplomacy to support sustainable solutions and build effective strategic partnerships.

The delegation called for increased investment in research and development of environmentally sustainable technologies, and emphasised the importance of accelerating clean hydrogen production as a strategic resource for strengthening national economic resilience and ensuring long term energy security.
