Speaker meets Moroccan House of Councillors President in Marrakesh

Marrakesh, May 24 (BNA): Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, met with Mohamed Ould Rachid, President of the Moroccan House of Councillors. The meeting was held in Marrakesh as part of the visit of Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division delegation to the Kingdom of Morocco.
The meeting reviewed means to strengthen parliamentary cooperation in support of the interests of both countries and their peoples.
Al Musallam highlighted the close and steadily advancing ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Excellency Aziz Akhannouch, Prime Minister of Morocco.
He emphasised that the Bahraini-Moroccan relations are based on a strategic partnership, shared values, and joint development efforts, and continue to advance across various domains. He noted that both countries share a common vision on regional and international matters and maintain regular coordination in multilateral forums.
Al Musallam also underscored the importance of parliamentary visits in enhancing ties, exchanging legislative expertise, and aligning positions in parliamentary engagements.
On his part, Mohamed Ould Rachid commended the role of parliamentary diplomacy in advancing Bahrain-Morocco relations. He emphasised the interest of both councils in expanding economic cooperation, exchanging legislative expertise, and coordinating positions in international parliamentary forums.
The meeting was attended by Members of Parliament Mohammed Moosa, Abdulhakim Al Shino, Hanan Fardan, and Basma Mubarak, as well as Mohammed Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives, and Kareema Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council.
