Works Minister discusses infrastructure cooperation with Saudi counterpart

Riyadh, May 27 (BNA): Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, met with Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


 

The meeting discussed cooperation in infrastructure and strategic planning.

 

The meeting also focused on enhancing collaboration in road sustainability, with the Saudi Roads General Authority presenting a detailed overview of its maintenance programmes and the latest monitoring technologies. Discussions also covered the Saudi Roads Code, which reflects global best practices tailored to the local environment.

 

Both sides explored avenues for joint research and development, particularly in testing and assessing construction materials used in infrastructure projects. They also discussed innovative, sustainable solutions to sector challenges, including the exchange of data and technical resources on road materials.

 

As part of the visit, the Minister toured the Saudi Road Research and Accelerated Pavement Test Centre (SRRAPTC), which specialises in evaluating road construction materials and provides research and consultation services to factories and contractors in line with international standards.

 

The Minister underscored the strong Bahraini-Saudi relations, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.
