SUPPORT NAJIB'S EFFORTS IN REVIVING ECONOMY - EX-PM

KEPALA BATAS (Malaysia), June 11 (Bernama) -- Former prime minister Abdullah
Ahmad Badawi has called on the people to support Mohd Najib Razak's efforts in
stimulating the economy and developing the country.

Abdullah, who is also Member of Parliament for Kepala Batas, said the people
should also give their contributions in reviving the economy by supporting the
plans formulated by the government.

"After the policies had been announced and the approaches laid out, what is
important now is to implement plans for economic recovery.

"It is important that the people not only welcome the policies but should
also ensure that their implementation go unhindered," he told reporters after
attending an enhancement programme at a school here Saturday.

Abdullah, who was accompanied by his wife, Jeanne Abdullah, said he was
thankful that Najib had proven his ability in the first 100 days of his
administration by bringing about changes and new approaches in reviving the
economy.

The prime minister had introduced measures that brought new impetus in the
economy in a short space of time, added Abdullah.
