Foreign Minister meets UN General Assembly President in New York

New York, June 3 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Annalena Baerbock, the President-elect of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly and former Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany.
Dr. Al Zayani underscored Bahrain’s full support for the General Assembly’s ongoing efforts to enhance international cooperation in addressing global challenges, reaching constructive international resolutions that support the efforts of countries worldwide to maintain global peace and stability, address complex international issues, and achieve sustainable development for the benefit of all nations.
Baerbock highlighted the strong ties between Bahrain and Germany and expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to serve as President of the 80th session of the General Assembly. She emphasised her commitment to the UN’s goals and to strengthening international cooperation in peace, security, and sustainable development.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Ruwaie, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, and Ambassador Saeed Abdul Khaliq Saeed, Director of the Coordination and Follow-up.
