S. Korea confirms 52 more H1N1 flu cases

(ATTN: UPDATES with more infections in para 1-3)
SEOUL, July 11 (Yonhap) -- As many as 52 new cases of influenza A were found in
South Korea Saturday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to
432, health officials said.
The new patients include 11 Indonesians who arrived in South Korea to participate
in a music festival and 25 South Koreans who returned from overseas trips, said
the officials at the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The ministry said tests were being conducted on 36 other Indonesians who showed
similar flu-like symptoms.
South Korea has been relatively insulated from the global pandemic, which has
claimed more than 400 lives worldwide since the disease was first identified in
April. No deaths have been reported here.
But concerns have lingered that the disease could be spreading more quickly than
expected. Two local elementary schools were temporarily closed last week after a
few students had been tested positive for the virus.
The government earlier said that it plans to spend nearly 200 billion won (US$157
million) to secure enough vaccines to inoculate 13 million people against the new
flu.
