Foreign Minister receives phone call from UK Foreign Secretary

Manama, June 24 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today received a phone call from David Lammy, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom.

The call covered developments in Bahrain–UK relations and the continued growth of their strategic partnership across political, economic, and developmental fields. Both ministers emphasised the importance of building on the momentum of the recent visit by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the United Kingdom.

Furthermore, the two ministers exchanged views on the latest regional developments and their implications for regional security and stability. They affirmed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to halt military escalation and to support the resumption of US-Iran negotiations through dialogue and diplomacy in a manner that maintains peace, security, and stability in the region and promotes opportunities for peaceful solutions.
