Seoul stocks open lower on tech, financial losses


SEOUL, July 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks opened lower Monday as investors
unloaded tech and financial shares, analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stocks Price Index (KOSPI) fell 9.98 points, or 0.7
percent, to 1,418.64 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Major shares opened mixed with declines in tech and financial issues weighing on
the market. Construction companies gained some ground.
The local currency was trading at 1,285.8 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15, down
3.1 won from Friday's close.
