Interior Minister receives Pakistani delegation

Manama, July 14 (BNA): General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Civil Defence Council, received the Director-General of the Pakistan Border Works Organisation (BWO).
Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, Deputy Minister of Interior, and Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, were present.
Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah commended the BWO, which specialises in shelter management and civil protection, and highlighted the strong ties between the two countries and both sides' keenness to enhance mutual cooperation.
Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah noted the importance of cooperation, coordination, and the exchange of expertise, along with the adoption of best practices in civil emergency management. He emphasised that such efforts are essential to raising readiness levels, implementing effective civil protection measures, ensuring public safety, and improving risk response mechanisms.
The meeting reviewed Bahrain’s experience in civil protection, including procedures and awareness initiatives launched through the National Civil Protection Platform, the issuance of a comprehensive technical guide for shelters and evacuation centres, and the launch of an awareness campaign on safe behaviour in potential emergencies and the implementation of protection and safety measures.
The meeting explored means to enhance cooperation and tackle shared challenges.
