Bahrain participates in AIPA 16th General Assembly

Phnom Penh, July 15 (BNA): The Bahraini Parliamentary Delegation, led by MP Ahmed Abdulwahed Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, participated in the 16th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, under the theme "Peace Through Dialogue: The Parliamentary Path Forward."

The delegation noted Bahrain’s progress in introducing legislation that promotes peaceful coexistence, and its continued contribution to global efforts for stability, development, and moderation.

MP Qarata affirmed Bahrain’s longstanding commitment to promoting peace, coexistence, and interfaith dialogue at both regional and international levels. The delegation highlighted the Kingdom’s active role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in supporting global initiatives and legislative efforts aimed at fostering tolerance and stability through multilateral platforms and partnerships with religious and parliamentary institutions.

The AIPA assembly features discussions on enhancing parliamentary roles in peacemaking, addressing global challenges through cooperation, and supporting regional development and international security. The forum serves as a key venue for dialogue and coordinated legislative action among member states.
