HM King receives Chairman, Board Members of BCCI

Manama, Aug. 3 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Sameer Abdulla Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), along with several board members, at Al Safriya Palace.


 

The meeting was attended by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King; His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs; and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.


 

His Majesty the King commended the role of the BCCI in advancing the commercial and industrial sectors. His Majesty described the Chamber as an active and essential partner in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s prosperity, development, and achievements.


 

HM the King congratulated the Chairman and board members on the Chamber’s founding anniversary as the first chamber of commerce in the Gulf, dating back to 1910 during the reign of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa. His Majesty commended the contributions of current and past Chairmen and board members, wishing them further success in serving the commercial sector and enhancing the Chamber’s role and partnership in development and progress. His Majesty also commended Bahraini traders and businessmen for their role in driving economic progress and launching projects that have contributed to Bahrain’s economic and commercial development.


 

HM the King noted the Chamber’s efforts in enhancing its position as an institution representing the private sector and emphasised support for the Chamber’s long-standing history.


 

HM the King also underlined support for the business community and the BCCI to continue advancing its role and contributing effectively to economic development plans and the growth of the business sector.


 

On his part, the BCCI Chairman expressed gratitude to HM the King for his directives, ongoing support, and encouragement for the private sector to fulfil its role in driving economic growth. He also said he had the honour of briefing His Majesty on the Chamber’s key programmes and commercial and economic activities locally and internationally.
