Al-Ahli Advances to Saudi Super Cup Final
Riyadh, August 20, 2025, SPA -- Al-Ahli advanced to the final of the Saudi Super Cup after a convincing 5-1 win over Al-Qadsiah in the semifinal match held today at Hong Kong Stadium.
Al-Ahli delivered an organized attacking performance, scoring five goals across both halves, while Al-Qadsiah—reduced to ten men following the sending-off of player Christopher Bonsu Baah in the 41st minute—found it difficult to recover.
Al-Qadsiah took the lead in the 8th minute through Gastón Álvarez, but Al-Ahli quickly responded as Franck Kessié equalized in the 12th minute. Ivan Toney then put Al-Ahli ahead in the 27th minute, followed by Enzo Millot adding a third just four minutes later.
Kessié struck again in first-half stoppage time (45+2) to make it 4–1 at the break, before an own goal by Al-Qadsiah's Nacho in the 61st minute sealed Al-Ahli’s fifth goal.
With the victory, Al-Ahli set up a highly anticipated final against Al-Nassr on Saturday to determine the champion of this year’s Saudi Super Cup.
