Events Held in Different Countries to Mark 80th Anniversary of Korea's Liberation

 Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- There took place seminars on the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and friendly meetings and other events in Germany, Austria, Egypt, Brazil and Venezuela from August 6 to 15 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation.
Speeches were made at the events attended by personages of political parties, parliaments and organizations of relevant countries and members of the Juche idea study organizations and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the DPRK people.
The formal representative of the German Branch of the Korean Friendship Association said at a friendship meeting that Korea's liberation was a historic event that proved in practice that the people of the colonial countries can achieve their independence when they are led by the outstanding leader.  The world oppressed working masses achieved the independence of their countries, following the experience of the DPRK which set an example in the national liberation struggle in colonies, the formal representative said.
A vice-chairman of the Socialist Freedom Party of Egypt and the chief of the Vienna Group for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism in Austria said at the seminars that August 15, 1945 was a significant day when a radical turn was brought about in carving out the destiny of the Korean people and the new epoch of socialist Korea was opened, praising Kim Il Sung as a peerlessly great man who led the grim anti-Japanese war to victory under the banner of independence and thus accomplished the cause of national liberation.
A member of the National Political Committee of the Brazilian Communist Party and the chairman of the Brazilian Center for the Study of Songun Politics praised the President's exploits for national liberation, saying that the anti-Japanese armed struggle was an arduous struggle unprecedented in history and its brilliant victory was a great event that instilled confidence and courage into the peoples of many countries fighting for national liberation in colonies.
The chairman of the Venezuela-Korea Friendship Parliamentary Group said in a speech at a celebration event that the exploits of President Kim Il Sung who put an end to the Japanese imperialists' occupation of Korea and liberated the country serve the immortal exploits in holding a great position in the modern history of the DPRK and the cause of global independence. -0-
