Foreign Minister receives US Congress delegation

Manama, Aug. 24 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a delegation from the United States Congress, comprising members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The meeting underscored the longstanding relations and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States, as well as the advanced cooperation across all sectors, reflecting the mutual commitment to further enhance these ties in line with shared interests and aspirations.

The meeting also addressed efforts to expand cooperation within the framework of existing agreements, including the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA) signed in 2023, which the United Kingdom has recently joined. The agreement provides opportunities to enhance regional security integration, strengthen collective deterrence against external threats, and expand cooperation in trade, science, and technology to support peace and prosperity in the Middle East.

Both sides further exchanged views on regional developments and their implications for security and stability, as well as ongoing regional and international efforts to end conflicts and achieve comprehensive peace in the region for the benefit of all its peoples.
