New Method for Cultivating Wheat in Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang
Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- Officials and agricultural workers in Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang Municipality of the DPRK reaped a bumper harvest in wheat farming this year.
They harvested more than 6 tons per hectare on an average in the fields of more than nearly 200 hectares than last year by introducing advanced farming techniques including the Korean-style new method of transplanting wheat seedlings, and fulfilled their wheat production plan by 195 percent.
They introduced the method of transplanting wheat seedlings into tens of hectares of paddy fields.
All farms of the district joined the ranks of high-yield farms with the honor of high-yield district in wheat farming, 44 high-yield workteams, 130 high-yield sub-workteams and more than 770 high-yield peasants were produced this year. -0-
