Paddy-Field Fish Farming Method Introduced in North Hwanghae Province
Pyongyang, August 30 (KCNA) -- North Hwanghae Province in the DPRK is pushing ahead with the work to introduce the method of efficient fish farming in paddy fields with great economic effectiveness on an expanded basis.
Officials of Unpha and Yonsan counties are encouraging farmers to turn out in the work, aware of the advantages of the Korean-style green cultivation and fish farming method.
The Township Farm of Yonthan County, the Sinsong Farm of Singye County and the Township Farm of Thosan County have created favorable conditions for the growth of paddy rice by introducing the method of fish farming in paddy fields in this year's farming. They are boosting the enthusiasm for scientific farming, while exchanging and sharing their experience.
Songnim City and Junghwa County have worked out the plans for expanding the areas of catfish farming in paddy fields and are securing seeds of improved variety and solving the feed problem.
The Kupho Farm in Hwangju County is raising the utilization of natural feed and survival rate and weight ratio of fish.
Agricultural workers in Pongsan, Sangwon and Sohung counties are laying the material and technical foundations for fish farming in paddy fields while making a purposeful technical study of the density of fish per cubic meter of water, selection of rational varieties of rice and scientific water management method. -0-
