Iraq Chairs a Meeting of the Follow-up Committee for the Implementation of Arab Summit Decisions

Baghdad / NINA /- Iraq chaired today, Monday, the meeting of the Committee for the Follow-up of the Implementation of Arab Summit Resolutions, held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, ahead of the launch of the 164th session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Osama Mahdi Ghanem, Head of the Arab Department at the Ministry’s Center, presided over the meeting at the level of delegates and senior officials, representing Iraq in its current capacity as chair of the Arab Summit.
Representatives of several Arab countries, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, and Yemen, took part in the meeting, which discussed a report by the League’s General Secretariat on its follow-up measures to implement the outcomes and decisions of the 34th regular Baghdad Summit, held in the Iraqi capital from May 12 to 17 of this year.
The statement confirmed that Iraq, as current chair of the summit, approved the inclusion of the report on the agenda of the 164th session of the Arab League Council. /End
