Deputy Foreign Minister Discusses With The Russian Ambassador Preparation For Arab- Russian Summit And Enhance Relations

Baghdad / NINA / -Deputy Foreign Minister for Bilateral Relations, Mohammed Hussein Bahr Al-Uloom, discussed with the Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, the course of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Moscow, as well as preparations for the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister to Russia to participate in the Arab–Russian Summit scheduled for October 2025.

The Ministry said in a statement that Bahr Al-Uloom, during the meeting held at the Ministry’s headquarters, stressed Iraq’s keenness, as the current chair of the Arab Summit, to play an active role in unifying Arab positions and supporting efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability at the regional and international levels, while wishing Russia success in hosting this important event.

For his part, the Russian ambassador praised the success of the Arab Summit held in Baghdad, noting that the convening of the first Arab–Russian Summit represents a pivotal step in strengthening Russian–Arab relations and enhancing mutual partnership.

The two sides also reviewed regional and international developments, underlining the importance of joint international efforts to ensure global stability and the need for collective action to sustain security and peace in the region and the world./ End
