The MoU was signed on behalf of Bahrain by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and on behalf of Egypt by Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance.
Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, underscored that the MoU will enhance cooperation and the exchange of expertise in the housing sector, in line with the ministry’s plans to develop its mechanisms for providing housing services to citizens, managing projects, and implementing the Government Land Rights Development programme. She noted that the MoU serves as a catalyst for further joint cooperation between Bahrain and the real estate and construction sector in Egypt, aiming to provide suitable housing for citizens in both countries.
The MoU between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in Bahrain and the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities in Egypt aims to exchange expertise and experiences in public-private partnerships for housing projects and real estate development. It seeks to increase housing stock, diversify housing options for citizens, highlight Bahrain’s experience through the Government Land Rights Development programme, and share knowledge on regulatory systems, legislation, and operational procedures in both countries.
