Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference Concludes with Six Panels, Four Workshops on Final Day

     Jeddah, September 4, 2025, SPA -- The second annual Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference (SMIC) concluded in Jeddah on Thursday, following a series of expert-led panel discussions and workshops focused on the future of the maritime industry and its global and local sustainability.
   Organized by the Transport General Authority (TGA), SMIC brought together leaders from international maritime organizations, as well as representatives from both the public and private sectors.
   The event came as part of Saudi Arabia's commitment to strengthening global partnerships and adopting advanced technological and financial solutions to build a more efficient and sustainable maritime industry.
   The final day featured six specialized panel discussions addressing key issues related to the future of the maritime sector and its sustainability.
   On the sidelines of the conference, four specialized workshops addressed key themes, including the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in accelerating maritime sustainability, data security practices in digitalization projects, the application of secure digital solutions in port and logistics management, and the development of safety protocols for autonomous vessels.
   The interactive workshops drew significant engagement from industry professionals and stakeholders, who shared practical insights and innovative ideas to support the maritime sector's sustainability.
   SMIC attendees visited Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). They were introduced to development projects, specialized programs, and scientific research efforts aimed at promoting maritime sustainability, environmental protection, and innovation.
