Foreign Minister meets with Chairperson of Committee on Foreign Affairs in Japanese Parliament

Tokyo, Sep. 8 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Horiuchi Noriko, Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the Japanese Parliament. The meeting took place during Dr. Al Zayani's visit to Japan to participate in the inaugural Strategic Dialogue between the two countries.
The Chairperson noted the launch of the strategic dialogue between the two countries and commended the deep-rooted Bahrain-Japan ties, which have been strengthened across all fields in support of mutual interests. She emphasised the importance of enhancing communication and joint coordination to advance bilateral cooperation across various domains, including political and parliamentary diplomacy, as well as aligning positions at the international level in addressing global challenges.
Dr. Al Zayani highlighted that cooperation between the two countries is witnessing an important phase of growth and advancement, and will continue to strengthen with the launch of the first strategic dialogue. He noted that the dialogue provides a valuable opportunity to explore prospects for expanding joint cooperation in the economic, trade, investment and development fields, in addition to other areas of mutual interest.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and elevate it to broader levels in support of mutual interests, and included an exchange of views on regional and international developments, the situation in the Middle East, East Asia and Europe, as well as global efforts to resolve conflicts and uphold peace, security and stability worldwide.
Ahmed Mohammed Al Doseri, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Japan; Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs; Saeed Abdulkhaleq, Head of the Coordination and Followeup Sector; and Muneera Noufal Al Doseri, Head of the Asian and Pacific Affairs Sector, were present.
