Foreign Minister meets Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary

Tokyo, Sep. 9 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Foreign Affairs Minister, met with Yoshimasa Hayashi, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, on the occasion of his visit to Japan to participate in the first Bahrain–Japan Strategic Dialogue.

The Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary highlighted the launch of the first Strategic Dialogue between the two countries, and praised the growing cooperation in economic, trade, investment, and development domains. He affirmed Japan’s keenness to further expand bilateral cooperation with Bahrain in support of mutual interests.

Dr. Al Zayani emphasised Bahrain’s pride in the longstanding relations with Japan and the progress achieved across all levels. He affirmed that the dialogue would open broader prospects for cooperation and partnership between the two countries.

The meeting reviewed the course of bilateral relations, discussed means to enhance cooperation under existing agreements and memoranda of understanding, and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern. Regional and international developments in the Middle East, East Asia, and Europe were also discussed, along with efforts to resolve conflicts and promote peace, security, and prosperity worldwide.
