Bahrain participates in fourth GCC ministerial meeting on cybersecurity

Kuwait, Sep. 9 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), took part in the fourth GCC ministerial meeting on cybersecurity, held in Kuwait with the participation of senior officials from member states and the GCC General Secretariat.
The Bahraini delegation was led by Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the NCSC, who highlighted the importance of the meeting in enhancing coordination and joint Gulf efforts to address the fast-changing challenges in cybersecurity. He affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to active participation in the committee’s work and support for GCC initiatives aimed at unifying efforts and strengthening regional cybersecurity.
The meeting reviewed a number of key issues, including joint cyber exercises, the implementation plan for the GCC Cybersecurity Strategy 2024–2028, the international cooperation framework, and the governance mechanism for the GCC Cyber Threat Information Sharing Platform. It also approved the launch of a GCC Cybersecurity Podcast in cooperation with the Information Security Society (Hemaya), and endorsed the minutes of the Executive Committee on Cybersecurity and its subcommittees.
The GCC Ministerial Committee on Cybersecurity aims to align efforts and reinforce cooperation among member states to safeguard shared interests and build a secure and sustainable Gulf cyber environment.
