Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla meets speakers, participants at GWECCC 2025

Manama, Sep. 9 (BNA): Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, met with JJasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council; Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates; Dr. Hani Atef Sweilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Arab Republic of Egypt; as well as speakers and participants in the Global Water Energy Climate Change Congress (GWECCC 2025), organised by the Ministry of Oil and Environment at Exhibition World Bahrain.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah underlined the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to supporting regional and international environmental and climate initiatives, and to enhancing multilateral cooperation for a more prosperous future for all.
He said Bahrain’s efforts to expand its partnerships and adopt practical approaches stem from a genuine desire to accelerate solutions to enhance water and energy security, boost climate response systems, safeguard environmental sustainability for future generations, and align with sustainable development goals.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah emphasised the importance of continued consultation among GCC and other countries, and the exchange of environmental and climate expertise among qualified specialists, researchers and entrepreneurs. He said this contributes to unifying visions, enhancing coordination between governments and the private sector, and adopting best practices in natural resource management, while fostering a culture of innovation and environmental responsibility.
He also expressed appreciation to the high-level speakers and participants for their contribution to the conference and wished them success.
On their part, the participants and speakers commended the Kingdom for providing an enabling setting for dialogue and cooperation that reflects its advanced role in supporting sustainability and joint action in water, energy and climate domains.
