Bahrain participates in GCC meeting of Assistant Attorneys-General in Kuwait

Kuwait, Sep. 10 (BNA):  First Attorney Wael Rashid Bualai, Assistant Attorney General, participated in the meeting of Assistant Attorneys-General and Public Prosecutors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Haroon Othman Al Zayani, First Attorney General and Head of the Technical Office of the Public Prosecutor, was present.

The meeting reviewed topics in preparation for submission to the seventeenth meeting of GCC Attorneys-General and Public Prosecutors, scheduled for October.  These included a draft policy to enhance cooperation between public prosecution authorities across the GCC, a unified code of conduct for members, and a guiding manual for handling senior citizens during investigations.

The agenda also covered the review of cooperation rules, an exchange of best practices among GCC prosecution authorities, rules governing the appointment of members across the GCC, and several training proposals, including collaboration with legal and judicial institutes and centres in GCC states.  In addition, Bahrain’s Public Prosecution proposed the introduction of a guiding law on the use of artificial intelligence in prosecutorial work.
