Liberation: Peace to the Nations Exhibition Opens in Beijing

Beijing, September 8 — The Russian House in Beijing has opened the international photo exhibition Liberation: Peace to the Nations, a project by the Rossiya Segodnya media group supported by the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives. The exhibition highlights the joint struggle of the USSR and China against Japanese militarism at the final stage of World War II.
Drawing on a unique Soviet Information Bureau archive, the photos capture the 1945 Manchurian and Khingan-Mukden operations, the surrender of Japanese forces, and the meeting of Soviet soldiers with the people of China.
The project aims to preserve historical memory, especially among young audiences, and to strengthen Russian-Chinese cultural and humanitarian ties. It also underlines the shared values and partnership that continue to unite the two countries today.
