Iraq and Iran Discuss Stronger Cooperation, Regional Challenges at Doha Summit

Baghdad / NINA / -Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed the importance of joint Arab and Islamic coordination to de-escalate tensions, prevent the expansion of conflicts, and pursue diplomacy as a means to resolve crises and safeguard security and stability.
According to a statement from Al-Sudani’s media office, the two leaders met on Monday in Doha, on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit. The talks focused on recent regional developments, particularly the repercussions of ongoing violations by Israel, including its latest aggression against the State of Qatar. Both sides underscored the need for collective Arab and Islamic efforts to confront current challenges.
The meeting also discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations, especially in economic and developmental fields, in order to serve the interests of both countries and meet the aspirations of their peoples within a shared vision for the future./ End
