Al Madinah Region Development Authority Wins Three International Awards in Urban Data, Smart City Technologies

Madinah, September 17, 2025, SPA -- Al Madinah Region Development Authority won three international awards during the GeoExperts’25 Conference held in Istanbul, considered one of the most prominent global forums specializing in geospatial data technologies and smart cities.
The Manarah platform received the geospatial data science award for the urban observatory portal, which includes more than 300 urban indicators across eight main sectors, with time series since 2004, and interactive maps supporting the linkage of indicators with the Saudi Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The platform also won the geospatial applications award for the geospatial portal, which provides more than 450 data layers in the fields of environment, education, health, historical and tourist sites, in addition to an archive of images since 1965, 3D models, panoramic images, and tools for monitoring urban expansion and simulating floods.
The platform further received the smart cities systems integration award for the SDG application, which links more than 525 development projects with accurate indicators and an interactive map that enhances transparency and efficiency in project management.
The GeoExperts’25 Conference is considered a strategic forum specialized in geospatial technologies, organized in cooperation with Bilgi University in Istanbul, bringing together industry leaders, decision-makers, and experts with the aim of shaping a comprehensive vision for the cities of the future.
