Bahrain, Serbia discuss strengthening economic and trade cooperation

Belgrade, Sep. 21 (BNA): A Bahraini delegation, led by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), held a meeting in Belgrade with counterparts from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of business leaders and senior economic figures from both sides.
The meeting was part of the official visit of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, to Serbia.
The session was co-chaired by Mohammed Abduljabbar Al Kooheji, Second Vice-Chairman of BCCI, and Mihailo Vesović, Deputy President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the participation of Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, Bahraini Ambassador to Serbia and residing in Moscow.
The meeting discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, expanding investment partnerships, and identifying new opportunities to boost trade exchange between Bahrain and Serbia.
Both sides highlighted promising areas of collaboration, particularly in food production, dairy products, information technology, construction, and financial services, with the aim of opening fresh channels of partnership and deepening economic ties.
The meeting also underscored Bahrain’s drive to position itself as a leading investment hub and a regional gateway to Gulf and Arab markets, supported by its advanced infrastructure and flexible regulatory framework that encourages business growth.
Participants agreed that such engagements lay the foundation for future cooperation and pave the way for joint projects and investments aligned with global economic trends, serving the mutual interests of both nations.
During the visit, the Bahraini delegation attended a briefing on Expo 2027 Belgrade, which will be held under the theme "Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All". The organisers outlined the key features of the international event, expected to attract global participation and serve as a platform for innovation and knowledge exchange in sustainable development, creative industries, technology, health, and sport.
