HM King receives Executive Director of International Dates Council

Manama, Sep. 22 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Her Royal Highness Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Executive Director of the International Dates Council, and the accompanying delegation, at Al Safriya Palace. HRH Princess Sarah bint Bandar is on a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to sign an agreement establishing the headquarters of the International Dates Observatory in Bahrain. 

His Majesty the King welcomed HRH Princess Sarah bint Bandar and commended the longstanding ties between Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, highlighting the advanced level of cooperation and joint projects between the two countries.

HM the King also welcomed the signing of the agreement to establish the Observatory in the Kingdom, describing it as a strategic step that will make Bahrain a hub for regional and international initiatives in this domain. His Majesty expressed appreciation to the council members for supporting Bahrain in hosting the observatory, noting its role in enhancing the global status of dates as a strategic product that contributes to the world economy, and in boosting cooperation and knowledge exchange among member states.

HM the King underlined the Kingdom’s support for the council’s programmes and initiatives aimed at advancing international cooperation in developing the dates sector and improving its production and quality.

On her part, HRH Princess Sarah bint Bandar expressed gratitude to HM the King for hosting the headquarters of the International Dates Observatory in Bahrain. Her Royal Highness commended the Kingdom’s interest in the dates sector and its role in promoting economic and social development.
