Undersecretary for Political Affairs meets Assistant Sec Gen for Middle East, Asia and Pacific at UN

New York, Sep. 22 (BNA): Ambassador Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Mohamed Khaled Khiari, Assistant Secretary-General for Middle East, Asia and the Pacific in the Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations at the United Nations. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Al Jalahma commended the efforts of the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations in maintaining international peace and security. He reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to supporting international efforts to enhance regional and global stability and emphasised Bahrain’s dedication to supporting initiatives aimed at achieving peace and sustainable development in the region.

Khiari expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s continuous cooperation with the UN. He commended Bahrain’s positive role in supporting the work of the organisation at both regional and international levels, wishing the Kingdom and its people continued prosperity and progress,

The meeting was attended by Hatem Abdulhamid Hatem, Head of the Organisations Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
