Undersecretary for Political Affairs meets UNDP Regional Bureau Director for Arab States

New York, Sep. 22 (BNA): Ambassador Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary General, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Al Jalahma underlined the strength of the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UNDP. He reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing and developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest, in line with its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals under Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. He also commended the role of the UNDP in supporting Bahrain’s development efforts.

On his part, Dr. Al Dardari commended the excellent cooperation with the Kingdom and confirmed the UNDP's commitment to further develop the partnership and expand technical cooperation. He emphasised that this aims to support the development of national programmes and initiatives targeted at achieving sustainable development.

The meeting was attended by Hatem Abdulhamid Hatem, Head of the Organisations Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
